Iris folding is a paper craft technique that involves strips of coloured paper layering them up in such a way to form a design. 

What's involved 

Every iris fold design is different but is made in the same way. Firstly you have a grid that spirals into a view point in the middle of your design, this is called the iris the eye on the picture. Secondly you have a cut out shape that you lay over the iris grid and tape in place. Now the fun begins in making your design with colourful stripes of paper.
